A traditional, well established contractor working within the London and the Home Counties areas that work with local authority and private clients. Contracts includes heritage / conservation works, educational projects, commercial fit-out, and private residential refurbishment / developments with values ranging from £10k to £10m with most projects being £2m-3m in value. They are experiencing significant growth and have recently expanded their operations and opened a new office. They have an excellent reputation for their projects completed and for the retention of staff within the business.
Estimator / Senior Estimator
They are now seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Estimator or Senior Estimator to join their team currently consisting of three Estimators to compile competitive tenders for private and public sector projects.
Essential skills:
* Previous tendering and estimating experience essential from £3m plus
* Must be able to prepare competitive tenders
* Tender experience should include some of the following: specification and drawings, bills of quantities, design and build, cost plans and client meetings to negotiate construction works
* Happy to work as part of a small team as well as being self sufficient
* A strong negotiator, capable of gaining competitive advantage
* Ideally general contracting building experience is preferred
* Minimum four years experience in an estimating group
* Ability to estimate and price jobs for sites across London and the South East
* Position reports to the Estimating Manager
* Flexible, able to deal with small simple tenders as well as high value complex ones
* Good communicator, must be able to see tasks through to completion
* Experience of Conquest beneficial but not essential
* Stable work history
